Sunday Night Reflections

Back in July, I posted this video,
Husband of 57 Years Stops at Nothing to Save His Wife's Life from ourprecioussavior on GodTube.

Along with this verse,
Love suffers long, and is kind; love envies not; love vaunts not itself, is not puffed up,
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.
Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
Love never fails.

A miracle has happened. Click on the link below.
Larry Swilling: South Carolina husband uses sign to find kidney for wife
From United Press International;
A South Carolina man who carried a sign for a year seeking a kidney for his wife also found donors for more than 100 other people, a hospital says.
Larry Swilling, 78, walked the streets of Anderson, a city of 26,000 in the central part of the state, for a year with his sandwich board, ABC News reported Saturday. His sign had a simple message followed by his telephone number: "Need kidney 4 wife."
Sarah Parker, coordinator of organ donations at the Medical University of South Carolina, told ABC Jimmie Sue Swilling, 76, will get a new kidney next Wednesday. But she said publicity about Swillings' quest has benefited many more people.
Parker estimates 125 donors have come forward willing to give up kidneys even to people they do not know. She said MUSC got about 2,000 phone calls in a year generated by Swilling's sign.
Swilling would not comment on his search for a kidney for his wife. His voicemail gives callers the number to dial at MUSC if they are interested in donations.

Isn't it wonderful when we are given the opportunity to witness a miracle?!!

    1. When I initially posted the video, I thought it was such a great example of love and how we should love. To be honest, I didn't think he would be successful. I'm glad that I was wrong.

  2. Wow, my too frequently dispirited or dismayed self is heartened by this story. Thanks for the follow-up.

    1. Yes, I too was very doubtful that a kidney would be found. Isn't it wonderful when determination proves us all wrong :)
